As anyone who knows me on VF knows, I have a thing for dark, vampy nail polishes. I think I have every single vamp OPI have ever released, and I'm now working on my China Glaze collection.
Now that spring (well, and summer tomorrow) is here, I've been trying to wear more pastels and bright colours. Last week I made a point of wearing a bright every single day, and I must say, they're growing on me!
Here are some pics of my recent nails:
Urgh! I guess if I'm going to blog about my NOTDs, I should prepare my nails and hands for macro photography. I promise my nails aren't this hideous in real life.

purchased: ahh asos how I love you
Asos have a 20% off promo code for Asos-branded items, and free worldwide shipping at the moment!
Even though I only just received my last order the other day, I just had to place another one.
I've been looking for a pair of nice, skinny black pants for work, and at AU$27, I couldn't pass these up:

And since I'm forever trying to expand my jewellery collection, I got these 2 pieces, for AU$14 total for both of them:
How cuuuute are the earrings??
Okay no more spending.

new york, new york
I'm feeling nostalgic for New York today, so I'm looking through all my pictures and wishing I was there. One of my colleagues is in New York at the moment, and he sent another colleague an email saying it was 10 degrees and raining, and she was gloating that it's 30 degrees and sunny here in Sydney. I went 'I'd still rather be in New York.'
Warning: Pic spam!
Me in front of the 'Love' sign. Wearing my new (at the time) LV leopard print scarf
All the yellow cabs!
Greenwich Village. Gorgeous
Meatpacking District
Times Square, duh
Park Avenue. Love this pic, so eerie that there's no cars
Central Park
Can't remember the street, I think it might be 8th Avenue? I had a hot dog from a street vendor and sat here.
Skyline from the Staten Island Ferry
Statue of Liberty
Rockefeller Center
View from Top of the Rock. Incredible
Empire State Building, and Statue of Liberty way out in the distance!
Grand Central Station (I had a very excited Gossip Girl moment in here)

purchased: spending ban fail
So...my spending ban for my trip to Japan is failing miserably. Online shopping for Christmas presents and the strong Aussie dollar proved to be too much of a temptation for my weak willpower.
These items are currently making their way to me.
Asos blouse
Asos trousers
Topshop blush pink sequin top
Normally I'm not a fan of sequins, but this top took my breath away when I first saw it! It had to be mine.
And the other two items are more for work, I find myself living in high-waisted pencil skirts and silk blouses in summer, and although a favourite look of mine, I felt like I needed something new. I bought some black peg-leg trousers from Asos a few weeks ago, just to try them, since I'm normally strictly a skirt and dress girl. But I really liked them, so now I'm giving grey ones a go!

bright lips
As mentioned below, I'm no makeup expert. Every day I slather on foundation, mascara, and blush and hardly ever deviate from this routine. But one thing I do love is lipstick. I find it completely transforms my look, and makes me look so much more polished than I actually am.
I especially love statement colours, like hot pink, tomato red, plum, and blood red. I love how red looks with an all-black outfit, or how bright pink lips completely lifts a simple summer outfit.
Currently on my wishlist is NARS Heat Wave (bright orange-red), MAC Snazzy (deep plum), MAC Hang Up (deep berry) and MAC Lickable (bright pink). So...you know...if someone wants to buy them for me...

greetings!
I won't do the whole introductory thing on here. If you're reading this you already know a little bit about me, either by my online presence or IRL. And I guess you'll learn even more if you keep reading.
This blog will be mostly fashion and beauty-related, although my beauty knowledge is limited to nail polish and a fondness for lipstick, and I'll do the odd lifestyle post.
Looking forward to re-connecting with the blogging community x
