bag lemmings

I don't buy new bags too often, the last was my MBMJ bag from New York last April, and the one before that was my Mimco black patent turnlock 2 years prior!

However I'm already on the lookout for a new one.  For years I've wanted a Chanel classic flap in black caviar, but still have not gotten there.  I'm looking forward to checking out the designer consignment stores in Japan to see if I can get one second-hand, but I'm not holding my breath.

On the chance I can't find a second-hand Chanel, I think I'll get a more reasonably priced bag when I get back.  Surprisingly I have found myself drawn to satchel bags rather than oversized totes, and I think I really really want a Mulberry oversized Alexa in black.

I love the Proenza Schouler PS1 as well, and while I think black is more classic and easier to match with outfits, the Military colour is just to die for.

The only thing I'm worried about is if this style is too trend based and if it will date quickly.  At least with a Chanel I know I'll use it for years and years.

What do you think?  Any help will be appreciated!

bdo 2011

Deftones,  Birds of Tokyo,  the crowds,  Boiler Room,  Wolfmother,  Rammstein,  Rammstein

Still on a high from yesterday's Big Day Out!  Rammstein was a definite highlight, it was a surreal experience seeing them live as I've been a fan since I was 16!  The pyrotechnics were incredible.

Hope everyone in Melbourne going on the weekend has a fantastic time!

Since I'm working from home for a while (read: barely leaving the house), I decided to go through and try all the nail polishes I have never worn.  In my 120+ collection there were only a couple thankfully, and they actually turned out to be quite pretty!

OPI Midnight Blue Glitter over OPI Suzi Skies in the Pyrenees

OPI Banana Bandana

outfit post: sunday

Snippets of Sunday:

Staple embellished tank;  Warehouse via Asos maxi skirt;

Yesterday the boy and I visited both our parents, and went for a walk around our neighbourhood when we got home.  It's amazing how much you notice when you walk as opposed to drive all the time!

This ring is a gorgeous Christmas present from the boy's brother and sister-in-law.  I absolutely adore it, it's so me, and so unique!  The band is transparent, so from a distance it looks like I have tiny tattoos on my finger!  Love.

beauties

I've been lusting after the Louis Vuitton Beauty pumps forever.  They're not really my usual style but something about them that just makes me swoon.

Unfortunately, even the cheapest pair is out of my budget right now, so I when I got my Wittner newsletter, I was excited to see they've made a copy.

They're not the same, without the embellished heel, velvet and oversized bow, and nowhere near as special, but they're close enough that I had to have them anyway.

Due to my spending ban I put them on layby (somehow paying it off over time is better in my head?) since I'm not working in an office at the moment anyway.

I'll just continue to lust after the LV ones...

outfit post: ootd 2

Staple feather print maxi dress;  Cue black patent skinny belt;  Mimco 'Dig It' watch;

Ulta3 Wild Berry nail polish;

I ended up finding this Staple dress on eBay for $25! Scoreeeee.  It's 2 sizes too big, but since it's loose and flowy and needs to be cinched with a belt anyway, you can't tell.

Loving my latest Ulta3 purchase.  Wild Berry will be perfect in winter, the dark creme grey is so chic and edgy at the same time!

sja accessories

A few months ago I discovered this great little Aussie jewellery brand in Cosmo magazine.  I absolutely fell in love with one of their statement necklaces, which was only $30!

I've worn it so many times, it looks great with a plain outfit to make it a bit more interesting.  And it was such a bargain!

Since then, I check their website regularly and always add things to my wishlist.

Currently lusting after:

Silver Stud Bangle

Silver Hearts Ring

Black Revamp Cuff

Black Link Revamp Cuff

The last 2 are quite similar to the Hermes Collier de Chien and Rivale Double Tour, and I'm so tempted to get the Black Link Revamp Cuff, at $50 it's a much more budget-friendly option!

friday

Snippets of Friday:

 I'm working from home for a few weeks as my team is in the middle of moving offices.  I have a small study and a small desk so it's a bit cramped!

China Glaze Re-fresh Mint has got to be my favourite nail polish colour this summer.  I just keep going back to it.

I bought NARS Heat Wave lipstick today (I know, I know, I'm meant to be saving - although I was good today and exchanged half of my monthly pay into Yen, thus being useless to me until I'm in Japan!).  I've been looking for the perfect orange-red for ages and it looks like I found it! Looks amazing on.

in my bag

Since the gorgeous KittyCate and Hollypop recently shared the contents of their bags, I was also inspired to share!

Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q drawstringy satchel

Contents:

-  Magazine (normally I have a book, but I'm in between at the moment)
-  Hairbrush

-  iPhone
-  Wallet
-  Mimco sunglasses

No wonder I get sore shoulders, I never realised how much crap I carry around!

staples

I am lemming every single item in Staple's current collection. It's all so reasonably priced too. Perfection.

I just adore the loose, decontructed shapes and how they fall effortlessly to the floor. I'd kill for any one of these dresses.
