blue mountains

 Just some snaps of our weekend in the Blue Mountains.  We didn't get to do the bush walk down the Giant Staircase as I'm having pretty bad problems with my knee (more on that later), but it was still lovely exploring Leura and Katoomba, going to the markets, and taking pictures of the view from Echo Point.

Big thanks to doves for telling me places to go, we ate at Station Bar on Sunday night on her recommendation, and although the live music was questionable, the pizzas and the cocktails were amazing.

outfit post: weekend adventures

Supre white t-shirt;  Zara beige silky maxi skirt;  Witchery 'Simone' cuban heel ankle boots;  Lovisa black wing necklace;
OPI Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It nail polish;

Happy Saturday!

Today I went suit shopping with my best friend, her fiance, and their groomsmen (including my boy) for their wedding in 3 weeks.  My boy looks so cuuuute in his suit, I don't seem him dressed up too often!  I had a fitting for my bridesmaid dress last week, I love it so much!

After a long, lazy brunch in Glebe, some shopping (where I may or may not have bought a few things from Forever New...), and a movie (Horrible Bosses, so funny!), I'm at home packing for a few days in the Blue Mountains with the boy.  It's been a hugely stressful week, so I'm really looking forward to going away (even if it is only 90 minutes away) for a few days and relaxing.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend x

outfit post: pearl collar

Minty Meets Munt 'Ferdinand' pearl collar shirt;  Sussan grey sweater;  Topshop black leather leggings;  Jessica Buurman black spiked flats;  Asos silver talon ring;
OPI Designer Series Mystery nail polish;

Going back through the posts throughout winter, I've realised I've pretty much just lived in leather pants and skirts!  Way to mix it up.  I love knits and sheer shirts paired with leather, so I loved this combo.  I also like the slightly tough shoes with the delicate pearl collar of the Minty Meets Munt Ferdinand blouse.

I've got to start getting into regular posting again.  I've just felt so unmotivated to dress nicely lately.  I'm too busy dreaming about what I'll wear when spring starts.

outfit post: high tea tweet meet

Zara fuchsia top;  Vila via Asos black leather zip skirt;  Jessica Buurman black spiked flats;  Hermes clic clac;  Tiffany bangle;  Etsy sideways cross necklace;

Last Sunday (I know, this is sooo delayed), I went to a Sydney tweeps / Voguettes / blogger meet at Sheraton on the Park for high tea with the lovely @cosmeticcupcake    , and @MsCuriousCCM, who organised the whole thing (thanks hun!).

Even though I've been to a few meets before, I hadn't met any of these lovely ladies before, so it was great to put some faces to (screen) names!

The food was sooo yummy, as was the hot chocolate (I'm not a tea or coffee drinker, so this is my hot drink of choice!).

outfit post: work day

Portmans breton stripe top;  Asos grey wool peg-leg trousers;  Zara black suede pointy heels; Cue black patent belt;  Hermes clic clac;  Tiffany bangle;

I don't normally take photos of my during-the-week work outfits because I don't find them particularly interesting, but I liked this one!  I usually meticulously plan my outfits the night before, right down to the nail polish colour, as I don't start functioning of a morning until about 10am, but this one was put together in about 5 minutes.

Of course, even if I do think of an outfit to wear the next day, when I put it on of a morning it looks all wrong, nothing like I pictured!  And since I give myself about 25 minutes to get ready, it's usually too late to change.  I found myself in this situation today, where I wore a sleeveless dress over a button-up shirt, which looked so cute in my mind but that which actually looked really stupid in reality.  Of course, today had to be the day we had professional photos done for a new brochure.

Happy Tuesday! x

purchased: new shoes

Taupe suede boots: Witchery  Black suede pointy heels: Zara  Black spike flats: Jessica Buurman

Some of the new additions to my shoe wardrobe over the past few months.

I can't wait to wear these boots in spring with floaty, floral dresses, and these Zara heels have become my favourite go-to work heels.  These spike flats are copies of the Louboutin Pigalle spike flats (don't hate!) that satisfied my craving without dropping $1k.

Please excuse my blinding white legs!  I could blame this on winter, but really, they're this colour in the middle of summer too.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! x

outfit post: red skirt

American Apparel 'El Salvador' lace tee;   Zara red full skirt;  Sportsgirl ankle boots;  Mimco watch;  Hermes clic clac;  Etsy sideways cross necklace;
MAC Ruby Woo lipstick;

So Sydney's brief flirtation with spring weather has fizzled out, so we're back to winter, and winter outfits.  I'm struggling so hard to be motivated to wear anything nice, or anything that just isn't a massive jumper and jeans.  I'm dreaming of floral dresses and loose t-shirts.

I pulled out this skirt to try and brighten things up a bit.  I don't own a lot of red, despite it being my favourite colour.  My mum always told me to wear more red when I was younger, as she said it really suited me, but I was always too afraid to wear such bright colours.

I'm really glad I bought this skirt though, it's such a nice change from the sea of black and neutrals I usually wear, and gave me a much-needed boost on such a dreary day!

birthday boy

Yesterday was my lovely boy's birthday, so we spent the gorgeous day at the zoo, having a ball taking pictures of all the animals, and sitting in the sun at Opera Bar, where we ate the most delicious pepperoni and pesto pizza!

Being out on the harbour on the ferry was stunning, such a perfect day.

We rounded out the day with Mexican and margaritas in Enmore with friends, where much laughter and silliness was had.

Happy birthday honey! x

purchased: metal

I received these ASOS rings in the mail today, and they're just as stunning in real life.  I like that they're not too in-your-face, but still very unique.

When I tried them on at work, the spike knuckle ring kept sticking out when I bent my finger, and would hit extra keys while I was typing! haha probably not the best ring to wear at work.

I love the contrast between alternative jewellery and pastel nail polish.
