outfit post: blazers

Supre white t-shirt;  Zara black blazer;  Topshop black leather leggings;  Jessica Buurman black spike flats;  Sportsgirl crystal bib necklace

I hardly ever wear blazers with casual outfits, no matter what I wear them with, they always seem to end up looking too corporate.  Other girls can carry them off so well!  This morning I figured they couldn't look too business-y with leather leggings and a t-shirt, and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.  Yeah yeah, I know, I'm wearing the leather leggings again.  I'm making the most of Sydney's cooler weather to wear them as much as I can before spring!

I haven't straightened my hair for months - quite a mean feat considering I straightened it every single day since I was 15 up until about 22.  I just prefer the undone look now I think.  Though it was a nice change to do something different today.  When it's straight I can tell how much it's grown - it's well and truly up to my waist now!

We have a long weekend here in Sydney, and I've got it to myself again as the boy is off working at Parklife again.  I'm looking forward to paying a visit to Pro Nail Supply in Bankstown tomorrow, and going to my parent's property.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

purchased: glitter

I've been fantasising about these Jeffrey Campbell 'Uniform' glitter oxfords for months, and they're finally mine! (well, they will be when they arrive from the US).  I can't wait to wear them with an outfit similar to the below.

neutrals

 I've started a new hardcore pay-off-debt and build-up-savings mission, by transferring a lump sum onto my credit card when I get paid each month, and after all rent and bills are paid, the rest goes to my boy to distribute to me weekly, so I can't blow my monthly pay in one week! I can buy things if I use money I've gotten from selling things on eBay, and the occasional small item if it fits into my weekly budget. It sounds severe as my debt isn't all that big, but I just want it gone! With everything that's happened lately I haven't had the urge to shop I usually do, so hopefully this works well. Now that I have these shoes, I've gotten most things on my wishlist for spring.

What are your money-saving tips??

lunch + alleyways

Country Road black silk shirt;  Dotti black cable knit sweater;  Topshop black leather leggings;  Jessica Buurman black spike flats;  Mulberry Alexa handbag;  Hermes clic clac;

On Saturday I had lunch (and drinks) with lovely ladies Elyse and Holly, which consisted of delicious white wine sangria, yummy food, great conversation and a photoshoot in a nearby alleyway.  Thanks for a great day girls! <3

My weekend was pretty quiet apart from this, my boy was off working at Melbourne and Perth Parklife, so I hung around at home, watching DVDs, listing stuff on eBay and experimenting with different hairstyles :P

How was your weekend? x

outfit post: neon

Cotton On black sheer shirt;  Sportsgirl black tube midi skirt;  Sportsgirl neon pink skinny belt;  Jessica Buurman black spiked flats;  Asos silver talon ring;  Hermes clic clac;
Ulta3 Frangipani nail polish;

What a stunning day in Sydney today.  Probably not the best idea to wear a black tube skirt, but I loved this outfit regardless!  I didn't go to work today (specialist appointment), so it was a great opportunity to experiment with some of the items I got ages ago in preparation for spring/summer and create some new outfits.

I'm loving the idea of pops of colour with neutral clothes this spring, so this Sportsgirl belt is perfect for making a dull outfit a bit interesting.  And this nail polish from Ulta3 is so not something I'd normally go for, but I love how it goes with the pink belt!

What things are you looking forward to trying this spring? xx

fun nails

OPI Time-Less is More under Missha Crystal Nail Polish 'Orange Stone'

OPI Bubble Bath with China Glaze Jitterbug in half-moons

OPI Rumples Wiggin with OPI Mad as a Hatter on thumb & ring finger

Ombre nails with (l-r)  OPI Miami Beet, OPI Koala Bear-y, OPI Strawberry Margarita, OPI Make Love & OPI Bubble Bath

Kit 'Shop Loves Sunset' with Missha Crystal Nail Polish 'Orange Stone' on thumb & ring finger

Since I haven't been working much lately and with too much time sitting around being bored, I've started experimenting a lot more with my nails.  I generally tend to stick to dark colours and reds (despite my huge nail polish collection with every colour under the sun), so this was a happy change.

Especially loving the Missha glitter polish that has been featured in several manicures since the lovely Elyse sent it to me last week (thanks again hun!)

I'm back at work for a couple of days this week, and it's hard to go back to 'normal' nails!

wedding

 Friday was my best friends' wedding.  It was such an amazing day, from start to finish!

1.  L's veil, handmade by one of the other bridesmaids.
2.  L's stunning purple Kate Spade shoes!
3.  The flower centrepieces, DIYed by us on the morning of the wedding!
4.  The bouquets, also DIYed, on the way to the ceremony in one of the wedding cars, a 1947 Bentley Mark 6.
5.  The menu, the food was absolutely delicious!
6.  Meeee.  I absolutely love my bridesmaid dress, it was so flattering on all of us, and I'll definitely wear it again.
7.  The view of Sydney Harbour from the reception.
8.  A random shot snapped by the boy!
9.  My boy's lego cufflinks.  All the boys had them, they were made by the groom's father, who is a jeweller.
10.  Me and my bouquet.
11.  The bonbonniere, so cute!
12.  Dessert *drool*
13.  My bouquet (looking a little worse for wear at this point) and my nail polish.

The day was so much fun, consisting of early-morning breakfast (cooked by the bride!), frantically trying to get the tulips to open, making centrepieces and all the bouquets, getting ready at the Four Seasons, hair freakouts, tears at the ceremony, laughter during photos, shots in the bridal lounge, shots on the balcony, amazing speeches, dancing, and tears at the getaway car.  I'm so happy for L and J, they're such an amazing couple <3

Today we dropped them at the airport for their month-long honeymoon, I don't know what I'm going to do without them for so long!

outfit post: great news

Asos blush lace dress;  Ferragamo black patent Varina ballet flats;  Asos envelope clutch;
MAC Ruby Woo lipstick;  OPI We'll Always Have Paris nail polish;

Thank you all so much for your well wishes!  They must have worked - the biopsy went fine, the hospital trip was fine, and my doctor even told me that he's fairly sure the tumour is benign - which is the best possible outcome I could have hoped for.  I'm still not there yet, I'll have to have surgery again later on to remove it and possibly be on medication for a while, but it's still fantastic news.   So thank you all again :)

Tonight I'm off to a big celebratory dinner with my best friends' family and the rest of the bridal party in preparation for the wedding tomorrow.  I'm so excited that I can walk fine and won't need to be on crutches - and the ugly dressing on my leg will be covered by my long dress ;)

Lots of love xx

outfit post: ups and downs

American Apparel grey tank;  Sportsgirl sheer pleated midi skirt;  Witchery black ballet flats;  Mulberry oversized Alexa;  Tiffany key necklace;

Yesterday we trekked out to the park my best friend is getting married at on Friday for a mini-rehearsal.  It in itself was so much fun, so I can't wait until the wedding day!

This week is pretty tumultuous though, I go into hospital on Wednesday for a surgical biopsy on my knee.  I have to stay overnight, which I haven't done since I was 9, so I'm a bit nervous about it.  I'm hoping so badly that I will be able to walk okay afterwards, as I really don't want to walk down the aisle on crutches.

Anyway, I love this pleated midi skirt I got from Sportsgirl a while ago for the bargain price of $35.  You may remember I had a sheer pleated maxi from Forever New, but I sold it on eBay when I got this skirt, I much prefer this length and feel it's slightly more versatile!

One of my favourite things about curling my hair is being able to pull it up a few days later for a wavy ponytail!

outfit post: hens night

Zara floral dress;  Tony Bianco 'Febe' wedges;
MAC Girl About Town lipstick;  OPI Koala Bear-y nail polish;

Last night was my best friend's hens party. I was given strict instructions that no sashes, veils or penis straws should be involved, so we went for a low-key dinner to Pony in The Rocks, then out for drinks.
It was a fantastic night consisting of good food, many cocktails, photobooths, making random friends, and 3am D&Ms.

Tonight she and I are off for a roadtrip down the coast for a big family party. My boy is working so she's acting as my date. Should be great fun, my family can get pretty crazy when they're all together!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! x
