After waiting an agonising 7 months, our trip to Thailand is now only a couple of days away.  I've been thinking about what I'm going to wear in the 30+ degree weather for weeks now, as I'm well and truly sick of winter outfits.  I can't wait to get around in shorts, t-shirts, floaty maxi skirts, floral dresses and sandals with a fedora or wide-brimmed hat and bright lipstick.  I've already mostly packed the bags (a bit eager apparently!) and printed off all our travel documents and put them in the gorgeous Kikki K travel wallet I got for my birthday.  I've been waiting for a chance to us this!

I probably won't be able to post much while I'm away, so I will most likely be back in 2 weeks. I will be posting on Twitter and Instagram though, so follow me there for updates! x

Thanks for all your kind words of support on my last post, you're all so lovely <3  I'm feeling a bit better about the situation, as even though I'm possibly facing even more major surgery and recuperation, fingers crossed that afterwards I can be pain-free and have more mobility back in my knee.  I won't know for a few months which way it's going to go, but fingers crossed.

These are some photos we took on the weekend of an outfit featuring my ever-present leopard print jeans.  Seriously, these were the best $10 ever spent, on a cost-per-wear basis they'll practically be free now.

I'm a bit in holiday mode at the moment, as we're off to Thailand in 5 days, and I'm finishing up in the team I've been working in for the last 2.5 months, and I probably won't be allocated anywhere else until I come back, so looks like the rest of the week should be pretty cruisey!

Dotti mint green skinny jeans (similar here);  American Apparel grey marle track t-shirt;  Witchery taupe suede ankle boots (similar here);  Mulberry black oversized Alexa;  Mimco 'Nebular' chain bracelet;  Michael Kors rose gold watch;
OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender nail polish;

On Friday I was feeling particularly fragile after some not-so-good news from my specialist and made the mistake of browsing the shops, and found these jeans that I had been eyeing off for ages, for 40% off.  My willpower was non-existent and before I knew it I was buying them.  I don't feel too bad, I haven't bought anything that wasn't on a voucher or via gift from the boy for a very long time, and I'd wanted them for a while, plus they were on sale.

I thought they would look great with grey marle, so I threw them on with my AA t-shirt, but I'm struggling a bit to think of winter-appropriate shoes to wear them with, as I feel my Pistols are too heavy for them.  I think they'll be a lot easier to style in summer when I can wear them with sandals.  They were the perfect cheery colour to wear during the dreary day we had in Sydney yesterday, although I didn't think about how hard they would be to keep clean, and I make the mistake of wearing them to tag along with the boy to work, and now they're not quite as pristine, oops.

Apologies for my unintended absence!  Looking back over my blog I realise I haven't blogged in about 5 days, and I haven't done an outfit post in 2 weeks!  Terrible blogger.

It's birthday week this week in our little circle, with my mum's birthday on Sunday, the boy's birthday yesterday and our friend's birthday on Friday.  On Sunday we went out to my parent's property for afternoon tea for my mum's birthday, and that night went out to dinner with the boy's parents for his birthday.  We took these photos at a little rest stop on the drive back from my parent's place, just as the sun was setting.  Despite having driven past it many times we'd never stopped and looked, but it's such a gorgeous spot!

Because we only went to the Splendour in the Grass festival at night, as the bands I wanted to see were on later in the day and the boy had to work there at night, we pretty much just hung around Byron Bay during the day, and treated it like a mini holiday.  It was so blissful, we haven't had a holiday in so so long and even just 2 days was enough to relax and recharge.

On Sunday we went up to the Cape Byron lighthouse, which is the most easterly point of the Australian mainland.  I had no idea of this until we got up there and saw the sign, but because of this, there were more than 180 degree views of the sea, it was quite incredible.  We hiked down to a little beach and sat there for a while and watched some dolphins, and I had a little play in the water.  The water was freezing!  It's technically winter but it definitely didn't feel like it up there.
